Heart disease is a serious life-threatening condition that, like most ailments, has a better prognosis the earlier it is detected. Although most common in older pets, heart problems can affect pets of any age and lifestyle. Like many other diseases, heart problems may persist without any obvious physical evidence, often going undetected until it is too late. However, many heart problems can be identified with trained physical examination and diagnostic procedures including EKGs, radiographs, and ultrasound. In addition we maintain a close working relationship with local veterinary cardiologists for consultation if necessary.
